DIVISION ONE at Don Klaebe Field Sat 1.02.25 v Kensington
WON 9-2
Runs did not come easy in the beginning with both pitchers on top. We put ourselves in good position to score a couple of times, but were unable to convert Troy's double or Callum's double and steal into runs. A sparkling double play in the bottom of the third really showed our intent, and we got our mojo going at last in the sixth when Ollie and Troy both got on base and Jose drove one in and Drew's sac fly got another home. With Cesar on base, Hayden sent a towering hit over the fence and we all breathed a little easier as Jose's double got Ollie home. Going into our last at bat (the eighth), we put on four to put the game to bed as Drew and Cesar all had hits allowing Two Hit Tommy to send them home. Acouple of walks helped our cause also. AJ pitched eight wonderful innings and came off as fresh as a daisy. Hits : Cesar Perez, Oliver Hayes, Troy Nicholson, Jose Castellano 2, Drew Janssen, Callum Park, Hayden Carroll (HR), Wade Moore, Tom Dineen 1.
DIVISION TWO at Don Klaebe Field Sat 1.02.25 v Kensington
WON 14-2
Three runs in the first set the tone with Pappsy and Tom both batting in runs, but the next two digs really ripped the Cardinals apart with eleven over the plate. Young Ryan showed his sprinting class with a three base run, Papps got on base and Tom hit the fence on the full to keep the scoreboard ticking, Manny belted a triple, Greg a double and it was all happening. Meanwhile, Declan was just going about his business on the mound, giving nothing away. Ryan closed for the last innings. Hits : Tom Dineen, Greg Bravo, Armando Ramirez 2, Joe Papps, Alfredo Rodriguez 1.
DIVISION THREE at Don Klaebe Field Sat 1.02.25 v Kensington
Lost 4-11
Kensington are the top side in this division, and we put up a hell of a showing going into the last one run up. They out hit us at this stage and got on top, but some of our boys looked the goods for the most part of the game. Rhys hit a bomb in the fourth, and the game came to a close with Seb Bravo pitching to Will Stock. Both from the under 17's. Hits : Jose Ramirez 2, Luke Taylor, Will Stock, Rhys Owen (HR), Nathan Nicholson 1.
DIVISION SIX
Lost to Henley & Grange 0-12
DIVISION SEVEN (Blue)
Had an unfortunate loss 0-11 with Nat Oliver being the only hitter.
DIVISION SEVEN (Red)
Travelled to Northern Districts and had a terrific win 5-3, with the unstoppable Dave Ding once again going the distance on the mound made even more meritorious due to his fractured ribs. Hits : Brad Atkinson 2, Kim Soung, Derek Milne, Dave Ding, Craig Mortimore, Shane Lodge, Mike Chemny 1.
WOMEN'S LEAGUE
DIVISION ONE at Don Klaebe Field Wed 29.01.25 Twilight v Adelaide
WON 13-5
The birthday girl - Amara - was on the mound and keeping the Angel girls in check, which let the batters do their stuff. Four runs in the first followed by the maximum seven in the next put paid to the opposition's chances early. It went like this : Indie walked, Amara singled, Alice put down a bunt, Sarah RBI, Beth's monster hit scored three, an Indie triple and a Dakota single, all combined with some errors and we were motoring. Darna closed. Hits : Darna BoersVeen 2, Indie O'HazyZschorn, Amara Quinn, Alice Brown, Sarah McMahon, Beth Lee, Dakota Ding 1.
DIVISION ONE at Don Klaebe Field Sun 2.02.25 v Glenelg
WON 9-0
Shortened early game due to the heat, and the girls really put the heat on the Bays with a maximum seven runs in the second - all with none out. Nearly every one got in on the act, and Alice Brown went the distance, and the other Alice - Morrison - showed she can really motor around the bases. A good team effort in the heat. Hits : Indie O'HazyZschorn, Amara Quinn, Beth Lee, Darna BoersVeen, Kelsey Goldspink, Jemila Dadd 1.
DIVISION TWO at Don Klaebe Field Fri 31.02.25 v Goodwood
Draw 14-14
They scored four - we got five. They got another four - we got five. Then they got five and we managed two and so it went, right down to the wire for an entertaining draw. Dakota, Ashleigh and Indy shared the pitching with nine strikeouts between them, and there was a couple of hits of note - namely Alice and Dakota's doubles. Hits : Dakota Ding 3, Molly Brown, Alice Brown, Rachel Page, Mel Askins 1.
