DIVISION ONE     v     E.Torrens at West Beach Sat 8/02/25

Lost 3-6

Unfortunate circumstances we found ourselves in with some senior players unavailable for various reasons.  The boys battled valiantly but ran into a roadblock in the third inning with not a lot going our way - maybe ask some of us who were there.  We shot out to a lead when Hayden got on base and we were the lucky recipiants of a few walks and Alfredo's hit got him home, and another in the next from Callum's and Cesar's singles and a Wade walk.  We left three on base - an unfortunate trait we have seemed to acquire - in fact we left eleven on for the game.  No more about their third innings, in which they got five runs and the contest was destroyed.  It was not AJ's finest game  but he battled on for his seven digs and Cesar closed.  Really needed the win to keep our position safe for finals, so an extremely disappointing result all round.  Hits  :  Callum Park 2, Jose Castellano, Cesar Perez, Wade Moore, Oliver Hayes, Alfredo Rodriguez, Joe Papps 1.

DIVISION TWO     v     E.Torrens at West Beach Sat 8/02/25

Lost 2-3

Kept ourselves in the top six however with this narrow loss not helping the nerves.  We left our bats at home, and we didn't get them until the fifth inning when we got on the board and again in the sixth after some fine base running by Amara, and Pappsy scoring after an Alfredo triple.  Declan had pitched really tightly for five, giving up just the two runs and then letting his sister take the ball for an innings before Ryan closed.  The Redsox squeezed a run in the last to knock us off.  Hits  :  Only Declan Quinn and Alfredo Rodriguez one each.

DIVISION THREE      v     E. Torrens at West Beach Sat 8/02/25

 Lost 2-10

We scored in the opening frame, but then we gifted the opposition four with two costly and basic errors.  Should have gone into the second dig at 1-0,  instead it was 1-4.  Seb on the mound was a little loose at this stage and gave up a few in the third and Amara came in to calm the farm, which she did before letting Will close.  We knocked in a run late when Elvin singled and Aldo doubled - but three were left out there - again.  Hits  :  Kosuke Ikeda 2, Will Stock, Elvin Avila, Aldo McCormack, Jonah Byrnes 1.

DIVISION SIX

Had a loss at the hands of the East Torren's boys.

DIVISION SEVEN (Blue) Away v Goodwood

WON 15-7

Great win to keep the finals hopes alive and kicking.  Hits :  Andrew Eime , Nick McCormack 3, Kelly, Cuz 2, Nat (the Pope) Oliver, Gomez. Dorny, Vlong 1.

DIVISION SEVEN (Red)  At Don Klaebe Field     v     Adelaide

Lost 6-9

Highly entertaining encounter - always worth a watch.  Without the services of the workhorse - Dave Ding - Owen stepped in and did a good job.  Hits  :  one each to Owen Williams, Derek (Yoga Master) Milne, Kim Soung, Brad Atkinson.

WOMEN'S LEAGUE

DIVISION ONE  Away v Sturt Sun 9/02/25

Draw 9-9

Took on the undefeated reigning premiers on their home turf, and came home with a very satisfying - if not nerve racking - draw.  Darna was the starter and fantastic to see her on the mound, and the hitting was well distributed among the team.  Hits  :  Sarah McMahon 2, Kelsey Goldspink, Dakota Ding 2, Indie O'HazyZschorn, Amara Quinn, Beth Lee, Darna BoersVeen, Jemila Dadd, Alice Morrison 1

DIVISION TWO Away v E.Torrens Fri 7/02/25.

WON

Good effort from the girls with Di leading the way from the pitching mound.

JUNIORS

Senior League U17

Had a bye

Junior League U15

Played at home against Gawler and recorded a 22-0 victory.

Hits: Riley Sinclair 3, Remy Brooks 2, Chace Wallis 2, Anton Kumar 1, Arlo Cockshell 1, Xavier Gower 1, Benji Hayes 1, Archie Wallis, good pitching from Chace Wallis 5 strikeouts in 2 innings and Luke Fawcett 4 strikeouts in 2 innings

Little League U13

Had a bye also, but played a very satisfying practice game against Adelaide and had a good result.

Peewee all had fun against Adelaide.

DIVISION ONE     at Don Klaebe Field Sat 1.02.25 v Kensington

WON 9-2

Runs did not come easy in the beginning with both pitchers on top.  We put ourselves in good position  to score a couple of times, but were unable to convert Troy's double or Callum's double and steal into runs.  A sparkling double play in the bottom of the third really showed our intent, and we got our mojo going at last in the sixth when Ollie  and Troy both got on base and Jose drove one in and Drew's sac fly got another home.  With Cesar on base, Hayden sent a towering hit over the fence and we all breathed a little easier as Jose's double got Ollie home.  Going into our last at bat (the eighth), we put on four to put the game to bed as Drew and Cesar all had hits allowing Two Hit Tommy to send them home.  Acouple of walks helped our cause also.  AJ pitched eight wonderful innings and came off as fresh as a daisy.  Hits  :  Cesar Perez, Oliver Hayes, Troy Nicholson, Jose Castellano 2, Drew Janssen, Callum Park, Hayden Carroll (HR), Wade Moore, Tom Dineen 1.

DIVISION TWO     at Don Klaebe Field Sat 1.02.25 v Kensington

WON 14-2

Three runs in the first set the tone with Pappsy and Tom both batting in runs, but the next two digs really ripped the Cardinals apart with eleven over the plate. Young Ryan showed his sprinting class with a three base run, Papps got on base and Tom hit the fence on the full to keep the scoreboard ticking, Manny belted a triple, Greg a double and it was all happening.  Meanwhile, Declan was just going about his business on the mound, giving nothing away.  Ryan closed for the last innings.  Hits  :  Tom Dineen, Greg Bravo, Armando Ramirez 2, Joe Papps, Alfredo Rodriguez 1.

DIVISION THREE     at Don Klaebe Field Sat 1.02.25 v Kensington

Lost 4-11

Kensington are the top side in this division, and we put up a hell of a showing going into the last one run up.  They out hit us at this stage and got on top, but some of our boys looked the goods for the most part of the game.  Rhys hit a bomb in the fourth, and the game came to a close with Seb Bravo pitching to Will Stock.  Both from the under 17's.  Hits  :  Jose Ramirez 2, Luke Taylor, Will Stock, Rhys Owen (HR), Nathan Nicholson 1.

DIVISION SIX

Lost to Henley & Grange 0-12

DIVISION SEVEN (Blue)

Had an unfortunate loss 0-11 with Nat Oliver being the only hitter.

DIVISION SEVEN (Red)

Travelled to Northern Districts and had a terrific win 5-3, with the unstoppable Dave Ding once again going the distance on the mound made even more meritorious due to his fractured ribs.  Hits  :  Brad Atkinson 2, Kim Soung, Derek Milne, Dave Ding, Craig Mortimore, Shane Lodge, Mike Chemny 1.

WOMEN'S LEAGUE

DIVISION ONE     at Don Klaebe Field Wed 29.01.25 Twilight v Adelaide

WON 13-5

The birthday girl - Amara - was on the mound and keeping the Angel girls in check, which let the batters do their stuff.  Four runs in the first followed by the maximum seven in the next put paid to the opposition's chances early.  It went like this : Indie walked, Amara singled, Alice put down a bunt, Sarah RBI, Beth's monster hit scored three, an Indie triple and a Dakota single, all combined with some errors and we were motoring.  Darna closed.  Hits  :  Darna BoersVeen 2, Indie O'HazyZschorn, Amara Quinn, Alice Brown, Sarah McMahon, Beth Lee, Dakota Ding 1.

DIVISION ONE     at Don Klaebe Field Sun 2.02.25 v Glenelg

WON 9-0

Shortened early game due to the heat, and the girls really put the heat on the Bays with a maximum seven runs in the second - all with none out.  Nearly every one got in on the act, and Alice Brown went the distance, and the other Alice - Morrison - showed she can really motor around the bases.   A good team effort in the heat.  Hits  :  Indie O'HazyZschorn, Amara Quinn, Beth Lee, Darna BoersVeen, Kelsey Goldspink, Jemila Dadd 1.

DIVISION TWO     at Don Klaebe Field Fri 31.02.25 v Goodwood

Draw 14-14

They scored four - we got five.  They got another four - we got five.  Then they got five and we managed two and so it went, right down to the wire for an entertaining draw.  Dakota, Ashleigh and Indy shared the pitching with nine strikeouts between them, and there was a couple of hits of note - namely Alice and Dakota's doubles.  Hits  :  Dakota Ding 3, Molly Brown, Alice Brown, Rachel Page, Mel Askins 1.

MASTERS Played at West Beach Monday 27.01.25 - lost to West Torrens 1-8

Juniors heated out.

DIVISION ONE    At Don Klaebe Field    Twilight v GGCD Tue 21.01.25

WON 9-5

Drew walked in the first and Cesar's single scored him for a healthy start and Alfredo popped one over in the third for our second run.  Then to the fourth, which was super productive when Joe and Greg both hit to get on base and Harry's sac bunt advanced them, and the Dodger boys intentionally put Drew on base, probably unaware of Jose's capabilities coming behind him.  His triple scored three - four for the dig and we were humming.  Drew had a breather after five at 1-6, but stepped up in the next to hit a home run after Taheny hit to get on base and Cesar and Alfredo obliged also.  We let them in a touch in the latter stages of the game, but it was well and truly wrapped up.  Hits  :  Cesar Perez, Joe Papps, Greg Bravo, Alfredo Rodrigues 2, Drew Janssen (HR), Jose Castellano, Breandan Taheny 1.

DIVISION ONE     At Don Klaebe Field v W.Torrens Sat 25.01.25

Lost 8-12 in 10 innings.

Great, seesawing game of tight baseball which had to go to an extra inning to decide the winner.  AJ was superb for his six, and came out with us just in front 5-3 but one of their big hitters put the Eagles in front with a three run homer.  Earlier, we got a jump on them when Hayden hit a two-run dinger in the first, and then followed that up with a blinder of a catch next dig and we fell behind after they posted two.  We loaded the bases - but no result - until we scored three in the sixth including Jose spectactually stealing home.  Another score to the opposition made it 5-7 against, but with Ollie, Wade and Troy hitting in the last, we forced it into extras.  It didn't go our way from this point, as they got five, and we managed only one in reply, to go down.  Really entertaining, but no cigar.  Hits  :  Jose Castellano 4, Hayden Carroll (HR) 3, Oliver Hayes, Troy Nicholson 2, Greg Bravo, Tom Dineen 1.

DIVISION TWO     At Don Klaebe Field v W.Torrens Sat 25.01.25

Lost 2-8

Didn't start too well and let the others get altogether too far in front early, and we just couldn't reel 'em in.  Greg doubled in the fifth, and we thought "here we go", but no more and in the last we looked like having a mini rally, but only managed the two runs in a disappointing display.  Hits  :  One each to Harrison Kiss, Joe Papps, Alfredo Rodrigues, Nathan Nicholson, Tom Dineen and Greg Bravo.

DIVISION THREE     At Don Klaebe Field Sat 25.01.25 v W.Torrens

WON 10-6

We used three pitchers for the afternoon - namely Seb, Diesel and Nathan - and they were more than equal to the task.  A six run second set the tone started by Amara, Seb, Kossi and Rhys all having RBI's, but the Eagle boys almost caught us up until we put the foot down again and put on a further three in the fourth to go to a commanding lead with Jose Ramirez, Kossi again and Diesel getting in on the act.  Good win.  Hits  :  Kosuke Ikeda 3, Seb Bravo 2, Jose Ramirez, Rhys Owen, Diesel Fallon, Jonah Byrnes, Amara Quinn, Josh Boden 1.

DIVISION SIX   Away v Flinders

 Lost 9-14

Played a pretty decent game and the hitters were  :  Eime 2, Oakley, Beltrane, McCormack, Moore, Davey, Wilson 1.

DIVISION SEVEN (Red)     Away v Adelaide Red

Lost 10-14

Found the going a bit tough if reports are any indication, and the hits came from  Couzner 4, Eime 2, Gomez, Oliver, McCormack, Fawcett, Vlong 1.

DIVISION SEVEN  (Blue)     At Don Klaebe Field  v H & Grange

WON 5-3

Once again Dave Ding carried the load and pitched the entire game.  There were some inspiring plays, but we left too many runners out there.  Hits  :  One each to Owen Williams, Brad Atkinson, Mike Chemny, Gary Fallon and Soung Kim.

WOMEN'S LEAGUE

DIVISION ONE     At Don Klaebe Field Wed 22.01.25     v H & Grange

WON 20-2

Impressive batting, impressive pitching (Alice Brown) and impressive defence made it for almost a perfect game by the ladies.  Amara's double in the first started us up for our first run when Beth drove her in, but we got six in the next and six in the next followed by seven in the fourth to make it twenty to zip after four. The second went like this - Indie single, Molly walk, Darna sac bunt for one, error for another, Alice walk, Beth single, Kelsey triple.  Almost ditto for the third and fourth as they went on to record a fourteen hit game.  Hits  :  Amara Quinn, Beth Lee 3, Indie O'hazyZschorn, Kelsey Goldspink, Jemila Dadd 2, Alice Brown, Dakota Ding 1.

DIVISION TWO

Did not play

Juniors had the weekend off due to Australia Day.
