DIVISION ONE v Sturt at Don Klaebe Field Tue 28/10/25     Lost 0-14

Often these twilight capers are not our cups of tea.  We struggled big time from the getgo and gave up three early runs with outfield lapses, and it did not get any better from there.  Our pitchers used - Jose P, Cesar, Sammy and Troy - are to be commended - as they lacked the backing of the defence, and our batters went through the

game hitless.  Makes it hard.  Hits  :  NIL.

DIVISION ONE away v Glenelg Sat 1/11/25     WON 12-2 (Mercy)

We went to the Bay determined to make amends for Tuesday's debacle - and it was mission accomplished - as we left them in our wake in seven innings.  We kicked off when Jose C doubled and got home on Hayden's sac fly, and the runs kept coming from a Cesar single, a Wade double and a Ryan Stradling RBI, followed by Cesar putting one ontoTapley's Hill Road for two more, followed by Hayden's and Ryan's singles.  The pitching from AJ who went six was ultra tight, and the defenders were all at their very best, allowing Jose P to close with no problems at all.  Hits  :  Jose Castellano 3, Cesar Perez (HR), Alfredo Rodriguez, Wade Moore 2, Hayden Carroll, Armando Ramirez, Ryan Stradling 1.

DIVISION TWO away v Glenelg Sat 1/11/25     Lost 3-4

This was a case of lost chances.  We left far too many runners on base in the early innings, and at the death we didn't take our chances, and really should have won the game, but came up short.  Declan went four and then it was left to the indefatigable Nathan N to finish procedings.  Disappointing.  Hits  :  Will Stock(continuing to improve) 2, Jimmy Chu, Nathan Nicholson, Hayden Scheele (barrels in from Mildura weekly) 1.

DIVISION THREE away v Glenelg Sat 1/11/25     WON 12-6

Coach Davey scored our first with an RBI and we were helped out with some walks to score a few more.  Goldy took a blinder of a catch at third and went on a roll with a couple of RBI's himself before taking the ball off Amara to throw the final three innings in fine fashion.  Amara pitched four quality innings and finished off with the perfect pick-off at first.  Rhys was his usual busy self and Matt Nanansi helped the total with a fine double plating two.  Hits  :  Rhys Owen, David Lodge 2, Kosuke Ikeda, Todd Dunstall, Steve Goldspink, Ken Inoue, Matt Nanansi, Amara Quinn 1.

DIVISION FIVE away v Port Sat 1/11/25     Lost 3-13

Hits  :  Daryl Soar 2, Luka Kalic, Josh Mignone, Owen Williams 1.

DIVISION SIX at Don Klaebe Field v Angels Sat 1/11/25     Lost 1-10

Hits  :  Aaron Petros, Steve Couzner 2, Nick McCormack, Brad Atkinson 1.

WOMEN'S LEAGUE

DIVISION ONE at Don Klaebe Field Sun 2/11/25 v Adelaide     WON 1-14 (Mercy)

The Senators girls are proving to be a very accomplished side, and proved it again today by firstly scoring the maximum seven in the first, and then just continuing on their merry way.  Every one of the starting nine made it onto base, and there were highlights galore with three girls hitting triples, Jemma, Peyton and Carly.  Alice pitched four innings of quality and Peyton rounded out in the fifth and last.  Hits  :  Jemila Dadd 3, Alice Brown, Peyton Daniels 2, Carly Moore, Beth Lee, Dakota Ding, Amber McMahon 1.

DIVISION TWO at Don Klaebe Field Fri 31/10/25 v  H & Grange     Lost 7-9

We let the Rams' ladies get on the board early and found ourselves in a bit of strife and had to dig deep to fight back.  And we were coming home like a steam train and looking to take the bikkies off them, but the bad light had something to say and we were thwarted at the end.  Alyssa, 2K (making a welcome return after a year off with a knee), Kylah and Dakota (2K) shared the pitching and the hits were  :  Kym Wilson, Molly Brown and Kylah Ding one each.

JUNIORS

Unfortunately, all junior games were cancelled due to the rain and the state of some of the diamonds.

GODANATS!

DIVISION ONE v Sturt at Don Klaebe Field Sat Oct 25 2025

First game of a scheduled double header.  We held them scoreless in the top of the first, and had scored one in our first at bat after Cesar scored Jose with a sac fly.  Then, down she came - thunder, lightening and heavy rain - enough for the umps to call off the day after deliberating for some time.

DIVISION TWO v Sturt at Don Klaebe Field Sat Oct 25 2025     Loss 1-6

Declan pitched from the getgo and kept them in check until they got three in the third, and we pegged one back in the same dig when Luke walked, Will doubled and Harry hit the first of his singles for the day.  Ryan took over and the Saints kept adding runs in singles, and our hitting was not allowing us to score - only four hits for the afternoon.  Hits  :  Harrison Kiss 3, Will Stock 1.

DIVISION THREE v Sturt at Don Klaebe Field Sat Oct 25 2025     WON 5-3

Under threatening skies and the odd thunderclap, Amara took to the mound and threw five innings of really solid stuff, before being relieved by Goldy, who closed off.  Earlier, Rhys and Davey combined and, along with a couple of walks to Alice and Amara, we posted our first.  Goldy's treble and a Rhys fence- rattler scored us again and Matt Nanansi had his first senior hit.  Diesel's walk helped the cause, and with another Goldy hit and a sac fly by Matt, followed by a couple of throwing errors, we were winners.  Hits  :  Rhys Owen 3, Steve Goldspink 2, David Lodge, Matt Nanansi 1.

DIVISION FIVE  Lost to Glenelg 1-12

DIVISION SIX v Gawler away Sat Oct 25 2025     WON 13-9

Gutsy, come from behind win after being 5-7 down in the fifth.  Brad's two run double started the run, and a six run final innings did the trick.  Dave Ding went the distance with five strikeouts, and the hits were :  singles to Derek, Kim, Dave, Watto, Chem and Brad, and doubles to Brad and also Craig Mortimore.

WOMEN'S LEAGUE

DIVISION ONE v Glenelg away Sun Oct 26 2025     WON 16-3 (Mercy)

First dig went like this for four runs - Smack single off first pitch, Amara double for one RBI, Alice single got another, Petyon's double scored again and a fielding error finished it off.  This was the story of the game, with the maximum seven coming in the third as the first of our three pitchers - Dakota Ding - was really working into the game.  She was then ably supported by Alice (who was on fire) and Peyton, who closed with aplomb.  Hits  :  Sarah McMahon, Alice Brown, Peyton Daniels, Dakota Ding 2, Amara Quinn, Beth Lee, Amber  McMahon, Alyssa Lasscock 1.

DIVISION TWO at Don Klaebe Field Fri Oct 24 2025      Lost 1-6

Kylah (so young) was terrific throwing the full distance from the mound, and Di took over and was, as usual, so competative.  Unfortunately, only four hits tells the story of our lack of runs, but it is all there, and only a matter of time before all this clicks.  West Torrens appear to be a bit strong in this grade.  Hits  :  Molly Brown, Kylah Ding, Di Barry and Ashlee Stradling - one each.

JUNIORS

U18 Lost their first game to Goodwood Red 1-15

U14 Won against Norths

U12 Won against Glenelg

DIVISION ONE v W.Torrens at Don Klaebe Field Sat 18 Oct.     WON 9-8

This game took an eternity to reach a conclusion - fourteen innings to be precise.  A win was a fantastic result for our hard working team which was badly depleted as far as numbers were concerned due to some members having prior committments.  Full credit to all who participated  in all grades and gave it their all - congratulations.  Torrens took the lead from a Gallagher triple, but Cezar got Hayden home to keep us in touch and we went to the front when Hayden was hit by a pitch and Cezar put one over in the sixth, and then AJ sat down having done superbly with eleven strikeouts and only two hits against his name. Jose Pimentel took over and was as mean as, and we went to the tenth and International Rules all tied up.  Boy, it got interesting from here but neither side scored in the tenth and the Eagles scored one in the eleventh from a passed ball but Troy's bunt levelled it up.  Sammy Carcia was called upon to step onto the mound and they scored two and we needed to dig deep and Alfredo was equal to the task and it was even again.  One more each in the thirteenth  and it as 8-8 and once again - a dejavu moment from last week - Ollie put one through the field and the win was ours. In the fourteenth!!  Phew!!  Hits  :  Cezar Perez (HR) 4, Oliver Hayes, Hayden Carroll, Alfredo Rodriguez 1.

DIVISION TWO v W.Torrens at Don Klaebe Field Sat Oct 18.     Lost 4-5

The selfless Nathan Nicholson was on the mound and pitched six quality innings leaving the hill just the one run behind at 2-3. We had lots of chances early and had runners in scoring positions on numerous occasions, but our first run on the board came when Will doubled and came home on Harry's sac fly, and Will featured again when he came home from a Jimmy Chu RBI, and he was in the action again scoring Luke Taylor in the seventh.  Just the one run deficit - damn good effort considering the team was a little short staffed.  Hits  :  Harrison Kiss, Will Stock 2, Jimmy Chu, Troy Nicholson 1.

DIVISION THREE v W.Torrens at Don Klaebe Field Sat Oct 18.     Lost 0-16

It looks like a bad loss, but boy, there were positives galore out of this one.   Amara pitched, and pitched well, but their bats were working and working well and ours wern't.  Davey had a purple patch at left field retiring all three batters in the third with fantastic athletic catches and we unearthed some new talent with Steve Goldspink looking the goods on the mound.  At one stage our infield consisted of three females and an under sixteen player - all gaining vital experience to hopefully use going forward.  Well done to Benji Hayes on his senior debut, joining Sarah McMahon and Matt Nanassi in this honour.  Hits  :  just the two - one each to Kosuke Ikeda and Carly Moore.

DIVISION FIVE v GGCD away Sat Oct 18.     Lost 4-9

Looks like these boys are very competative this year, and ran the Dodgers close.  Hits  :  Brad Atkinson 3, Steve Couzner, Shaun Wallis, Nate Oliver, Mike Chemny 1.

DIVISION SIX -  had the weekend off because the intended opponent pulled out.

WOMEN'S LEAGUE

DIVISION ONE v South Districts at Don Klaebe Field Sun Oct 19.     WON 16-2

Calm, proffesional approach saw a solid win with the minimum of fuss.  First dig, and Smack tripled (on her way to three hits) with Alice getting her home, and from there it was plain sailing with the maximum being scored in the third.  Carly scored an in the park home run, Peyton tripled, Smack another double and so it went.  Dakota doubled in the fourth and then took the ball off Alice and closed in fine fashion.  Seventeen hits all up  :  Sarah McMahon, Alice Brown, Dakota Ding 3, Carly Moore (HR), Beth Lee, Peyton Daniels 2, Amara Quinn, Jemila Dadd 1.

DIVISION TWO v Adelaide at Don Klaebe Field Fri 17 Oct.     WON 9-8

Great to see the girls having fun and playing well and winning.  Kylah Ding was having her senior debut and pitched the girls to a winning position, throwing to the returning Bridget O'Meara, who brought a touch of joy to the game.  Also, first timers at senior level were Aldeyna McCormack and Elyse Kerin and we wish them well in their time at the Club.

JUNIORS

U18 WON 12-1 against a combined Kensington/Glenelg team with Ollie pitching from the get go and Diesel closing.  One of those games when you can say - all played well.

U14 Lost 9-3 against Southern Districts

U12 Draw 15-15 against Glenelg

U10 Played at home against Sturt and Coach Boden's team managed a 8-2 win.  Well done all.

GODANATS!!
