WOODVILLE Baseball results w/e Jan 18 2026

DIVISION ONE Twilight away v Goodwood Tue 13.Jan 2026     WON 6-1

New signing Jamison Hill was on the mound and did his job admirably and came out with us in front, and we were looking pretty good in the batters' box all game.  Ryan, Jose C and Cesar combined to give us a couple, and generally good hitting and hard running got us a few more runs.  The sealer came in the sixth when Troy put over a big long homer with Pappsy on base, and the game was safe from then on.  Hits  :  Jose Castellano, Alfredo Rodriguez 2, Wade Moore, Troy Nicholson (HR), Ryan Stradling, Joe Papps 1.

DIVISION ONE at Don Klaebe Field v H & G Sat 17 Jan 2026     Lost 6-11

It's hard to keep the top of the table team quiet all day, but we gave it a big crack and at the end of the fifth we were in with a shot leading 3-2.  The Rams then started to get bat on ball and got in front, but we don't lie down and came back with two runs of our own.  Our defence was superb all day behind Jose P, and some of our outfield catching was great, with Ryan and Jammo featuring.  They ground us down with three runs in the ninth, and it could have been ours to win, but we only managed one run to finish.  Hits  :  Cesar Perez 3, Hayden Carroll, Wade Moore, Jose Pimentel (HR), Oliver Hayes 2, Troy Nicholson, Jamison Hill, Ryan Stradling 1.

DIVISION TWO at Don Klaebe Field v H & G Sat 17 Jan 2026     Lost 8-10

We started like a house on fire, crossing the plate six times with Alfredo, Tom and Goldy all featuring and Luke stealing home.  Errors were our problem in the fourth dig as we let them in for four and three in the next, as Nathan gave way for Ryan on the mound.  We recovered enough to score a further two in the last, but it was too late.  Hits  :  Alfredo Rodriguez 3, Nathan Nicholson, Tom Dineen 2, Rhys Owen, Steve Goldspink 1.

DIVISION THREE at Don Klaebe Field v H & G Sat 17 Jan 2026     Lost 0-11

Hitting was our problem all game (or lack of) as we couldn't buy a hit.  Our pitching was a bit off as well, and we gave them a few free passes.  This team has been really on the improve lately, but fell a little flat today.  Hits  :  David Lodge, Declan Quinn 1.

DIV FIVE and DIV SIX both had byes

MASTERS at West Beach v Adelaide Monday 12th Jan 2026 Lost 7-5

WOMAN'S LEAGUE

DIVISION ONE Twilight at Don Klaebe Field v Sth District Wed 14 Jan 2026     WON 11-1

Alice and Dakota got the ball rolling in the first, combining for a couple, and we kept it going steadily until we got four runs (mostly unearned) in the fourth.  Dakota had been having a field day on he mound, and gave way to Peyton in the last who celebrated with a 2RBI hit.  The girls are going from strength to strength and must keep that positive mindset going.  Hits  :  Sarah McMahon, Peyton Daniels, Dakota Ding, Alyssa Lasscock 1.

DIVISION ONE at Don Klaebe Field v Adelaide Sun 18 Jan 2026     WON 13-5

Stinking hot day - maybe that's why the girls were a bit sluggish to start, but boy, when they got going they just left the Angel girls in their wake.  Alice's single along with a Peyton walk and a Dakota hit  got two, followed by Indy's long hit to the outfield and Alyssa's RBI and Molly's single produced another two.  But next dig, we scored the maximum seven with all contributing after a fantastic double play to close out the opposition in the previous innings.  The ump sensibly called time on procedings, after Peyton had relieved Alice on the mound.  Hits  :  Alice Brown 3, Amara Quinn, Dakota Ding, Alyssa Lasscock, Molly Brown 2, Sarah McMahon 1.

DIVISION TWO at Don Klaebe Field v Kensington Fri 16 Jan 2026     WON 17-3

Complete game by these fun loving girls whilst all having a ball. Kylah (two strikeouts) and Alyssa (three) were never challenged from the mound, and the batting was terrific.  Three times the maximum runs were scored, with very few outs.  Hits  :  Di Barry, Kylah Ding, Alyssa Lasscock, Molly Brown, Ashlee Stradling 2, Lindsey Fawcett 1.

Juniors resume next week.

WOODVILLE BASEBALL CLUB Results w/e Sun Jan 11 2026

DIVISION ONE Twilight away v Sturt Tue Jan 6 2026     Lost 1-5

Not one of our favourite fixtures - across town on a working evening - but turn up we did - albeit with a depleted roster.   Most clubs are in the same boat here, with holidays and junior Nationals in progress, and the Giants pinching players, and so many games in such a short period of time.  Oh well, so Nathan took to the mound and we started ok keeping them in control, but couldn't put runs on the board ourselves and after four it was one all thanks to Troy's RBI.  They got four in the fifth to look as if winners,  but we loaded the bases in the last which gave us a definite sniff, but we couldn't capitalise.  Hits  :  Oliver Hayes, Jose Castellano, Troy Nicholson 1.

DIVISION ONE At Don Klaebe Field v Glenelg Sat Jan 10 2026     Lost 3-13

Went in as dead set favourites and let ourselves down badly.  We were looking ominous in the early going and a Hayden double put us in front but two home runs in a row stopped us in our tracks.  The Bays continued to score a run here and a run there, but a five run sixth put us to bed and we tried but were just not up to it on the day.  Disappointing.  Hits  :  Hayden Carroll 2, Wade Moore, Cesar Perez, Alfredo Rodriguez, Jose Castellano 1.

DIVISION TWO At Don Klaebe Field v Glenelg Sat Jan 10 2026     WON 8-0

A completely different kettle of fish was this game as we looked to be in complete control all game with Troy flinging away from the hill, ably relieved by Ryan.  Harry got us into the scoring mode in the first, Diesel scored Goldy in the second and again Goldy increased our lead in the third.  But the best was yet to come as we scored heavily on the back of Rhys hitting three (yes three) doubles in consecutive at bats.  The boys were not troubled all game and ran out conclusive winners.  Defence was superb.  Hits  :  Rhys Owen 3, Steve (not Ken) Goldspink 2, Harrison Kiss, James Chu, Troy Nicholson, Diesel Fallon, Luke Taylor 1.

DIVISION THREE At Don Klaebe Field v Glenelg Sat Jan 10 2026     WON 12-10

Had to fight at the end, but looked to be in charge most of the way.  Should have scored early, but had to wait until the third to show our potential by knocking in six runs in emphatic fashion.  A few walks helped, but Smack, Mignone, Ollie Van Dommelle and Ken all recorded RBI's along with an Amara single, who incidentally picked off her ninth base runner for the season and was hellbent on getting her tenth.  The opposition fired back and both sides recorded four apiece in the fifth with Ollie V, Amara and Ken combining for one and after Conner walked and Josh B got two home, it was locked away at 10-10.  The win came when Ollie and Ken reached, Conner got one home and Carly did the rest.  Well done all.  Hits  :  Ken Inoue 4, Ollie Van Dommelle (welcome back) 3, Sarah McMahon 2, Josh Boden, Josh Mignone 1.

DIVISION FIVE Away v GGCD Sat Jan 10 2026

Unfortunately went down 0-15

DIVISION SIX Away v Port Sat Jan 10 2026     WON 10-9

A bit of a nail biter this one - a game between third and fourth - with our boys just hanging on at the death with the Maggies coming hard.  Full credit to all, with Dave Ding going the distance yet again.  Still a way to go, but finals a possibility  Hits  :  Brad Atkinson 2, Soung Kim, Nick McCormack, Craig Mortimore, Shane Lodge 1.

WOMAN'S LEAGUE

DIVISION ONE The scheduled game v Sth Districts Wed Jan 7 was cancelled due to heat, and is set to be played Wed Jan 14 at Don Klaebe Field at 6.00pm

DIVISION ONE Away v Glenelg Sun Jan11 2026     WON 15-0

Wow - these girls know how to play the game - all skills on show.  Started off with seven in the first on the back of a Smack single and steal, a Carly RBI, a Peyton RBI, a Dakota single and a Kym two RBI hit.  All went a little quiet, and we went off the boil for a bit until the fourth and last dig when the girls upped the ante and piled on another six.  This was an outstanding innings kicked off when Indie singled and then the next three batters all hit triples - extraordinary - Smack, Amara and Carly, followed by a Peyton single and a Dakota single.  Peyton pitched the game (just the four innings) and did it with aplomb.  Hits  :  Sara McMahon, Amara Quinn, Carly Moore, Dakota Ding 2, Peyton Daniels, Indie O'Hazy-Schorn, Kym Wilson, Beth Lee 1.

Baseball results WDBC w/e 22.1.25

DIVISION ONE - Twilight @ Gawler Tue 16 Dec 2025     Lost 4-8

We thought the Tuesday Twilight Terrors were behind us when Wade singled in the first and Cesar put one over the fence onto Angle vale Road - two zip.  But that feeling was fleeting, as three errors in our first time in the field evened the score at two all.  AJ was "on loan" from the Giants and was restricted to only forty pitches, so he had to sit aside for Ryan early on.  We scored a couple more in the third after Jose C and Harry and Cezar all singled and Alfredo got two of them home, but we gave up three in the fifth to lag behind on the boerd.  Troy came in to close, and we failed to add to our tally.  Disappointing to say the least.  Hits  :  Wade Moore, Cesar Perez (HR), Alfredo Rodriguez 2, Jose Castellano, Tom Dineen, Joe Papps 1.

DIVISION ONE @ West Torrens  Sat 20.Dec 2025     WON 5-3 - game one     WON 8-5 - game two.

First game of double header  -  Jose Pimentel was on the mound and did a marvellous job restricting the power hitters of the Eagles for six innings, and, to boot, he hit two extremely important home runs - in the second and third innings.  Man of the match.  We plated four in the third after Ollie singled and Hayden  put one over followed by the second of Jose P's two RBI homer - and that was our lot - no more scoring.  The pressure was immense, with us in strife a couple of times facing bases loaded, but every time managing to absorb said pressure with minimum of damage.  A dead set tribute to the boy's fighting spirit.  We went into this game seriously understaffed, and came out victorious.  Hits  :  Jose Pimentel (2HR), Oliver Hayes, Hayden Carroll (HR), Tom Dineen 1.

Game two of double header  -  With pitching stocks at an all time low, the valiant Nathan took on the job of keeping their bats under control, and, boy oh boy, what a fine job he made of it, coming off the mound to let Hayden have a go only after four with the score a very satisfactory two five down.  Our bats came alive, and after Jose C cheekily stole home for a bonus run, Cezar hit a homer with Hayden on base, and again after Ollie hit a fine line drive, he came home in a scrambling play on Hayden"double after Cesar had been intentionally walked.  More tension, with the home side looking to knock us off in the last, but Cesar took the ball as Coach, and pitched a no hitter for our gallant win.  We took both games off them, in what was a very satisfying afternoon.  Hits  :  Hayden Carroll (HR) 3, Cesar Perez (HR), Jose Pimentel, Alfredo Rodriguez, Jose Castellano 2, Oliver Hayes 1.

DIVISION TWO @ West Torrens Sat 20 Dec 2025     WON 6-3

Troy had the pitching duties because he had to leave early for a function, and pitched wonderfully.  Our batters are to be congratulated also, as they took on the opposition straight from the getgo, with three runs coming in the first from a Harry double, a Todd single and Troy and Rhys both knocking in RBI's.. In the next Luke hit and Benji Hayes covered himself in glory by notching up his first senior hit in only a couple of games and Harry followed up with a RBI.  In the fifth, Harry again doubled, and Troy changed places with him for a further run.  The Eagles got two in the last to make it look a little more competitive.  Hits  :  Harrison Kiss, Troy Nicholson 2, Todd Dunstall, Rhys Owen, Luke Taylor, Benji Hayes 1.

DIVISION THREE @ West Torrens Sat 20 Dec 2025     Lost 0-11

The opposition got on top of us in the early going, but we did ourselves no favours by leaving plenty of runners on base in several innings.  But what about that two-way player Josh Mignone - stopped their scoring from the hill, and hit a fine double.  Hits  :  Riley Conner 2, Ken Inoue, David Lodge, Josh Mignone 1.

DIVISION FIVE didn't have the greatest of days going down 0-21

DIVISION SIX still going from strength to strength, this week accounting for the Adelaide team to the tune of a 12-11 victory.  Keep it going team.  Hits  :  Derek Milne, Aaron Petros, Nick McCormack 2, Kim Soung, Steve Couzner, Brad Atkinson 1.

MASTERS unfortunately went down by one run to West Torrens 2-1

WOMANS LEAGUE

DIVISION ONE @ Sturt Sun 21.12.2025     WON 12-1

Scored two in the first, three next dig four in the fifth, two in the last and another along the way with everyone getting in on the act.  Singles, doubles and even triples were commonplace, with the defence superb all game.  Hard to single any one out but I think the second base person had a fine day.  Alice took a tumble scrambling around in a rundown

play and had to retire for the day after pitching just the one inning (hope all is OK) and Peyton stepped into the breech and finished the game off in an excellent fashion.  Hits  :  Alice Brown, Dakota Ding 2, Sarah McMahon, Jemila Dadd, Peyton Daniels, Amara Quinn, Carly Moore, Indie O'Hazy-Schorn, Beth Lee1.

DIVISION TWO were due to play Gawler on Friday Dec 19, but unfortunately the Rangers' team forfeited and that gave us a 9-0 win.
