DIVISION ONE DOUBLE HEADER away v Adelaide 31.10.26

GAME ONE     WON 8-4     We went early, and with TVS in total charge from the hill, it was looking good.  Cesar walked and Alfredo singled and Jose P's double got one on the board, then three in the third and four more in the fourth and we were motoring. Jose C was stealing, hitting singles and causing mayhem, Cesar was his usual self and Alfredo was on fire.  Jose Cedeno whacked a homer and we were motoring.  Luis V took over from TVS and we closed out with a win.  Hits :  Jose Cedeno (HR) 2, Jose Castellano, Cesar Perez, Alfredo Rodriguez, Jose Pimentel, Armando Ramirez 1.

GAME TWO     Lost 4-13   All quiet for the first few digs, with Jose P strutting his stuff, then an Adelaide guy upset proceedings by hitting a grand slam - bugger. One of their batters was injured when he deflected a fast ball onto his face and had to head off to hospital.  Hope for the best.  Declan took over and pitched a good four innings, but we didn't trouble the scorers a great deal until the fourth when a Taheny double  scored one, Jose C's double got two and Cezar one more.  It was nice to get a win from them, but two would have been so much better.  Hits  :Cesar Perez 3, Alfredo Rodriguez 2, Jose Castellano, Jose Cedeno, Harrison Kiss, Breandan Taheny 1.

DIVISION TWO v Adelaide away 31.10.26     Lost 0-14

We were always going to be behind the eightball after conceding eight in the first and another three in the second.  Alice came on and gained control and calmed the farm, but only three hits for the game tells the story.  Hitters were Nathan Nicholson, Will Stock and Jimmy Chu one each.

DIVISION THREE v Adelaide away 31.10.26

Gloomy, misty morning - more akin to a winterball game with slippery balls, muddy bases and a sticky mound.  Amara finished the game at six feet six tall with all the slush on her cleats.  However, it was a case of the home side adapting to the conditions far better than our guys. Hits  : Josh Boden, Jose Beltran.

DIV FIVE Lost to GGCD at home 2-9

DIV SIX Lost at home to H & G 3-10 with single hits to Luis Rodriguez, Soung Kim, Brad Atkinson, Tim Fawcett, Craig Mortimore.

WOMAN'S LEAGUE

DIVISION ONE Away v GGCD cancelled due to the rain and conditions - to be played at a future date.  Boy - our girls were super keen to play.

DIVISION TWO At home Fri Oct 30.2026     WON 5-4

Kylah with the new ball, Darna in relief and Alyssa to close - pretty good aye.  They got one in front, we equalled then shot to the lead with three but they came back with three of their own.  It was left to the wily Darna to slap one up the middle in the gathering gloom to walk it off.

DIVISION THREE Away at West Torrens Lost 2-5

Not winning yet, but continuing to impress and watch this space..  Megan and Lauren Garcia each had a hit, Megan pitched well and Lauren did a good job behind the plate.

U12 played away at Henley and lost 0-7

DIVISION ONE away v Nth Districts Sat 24.10.26 Game One     Lost 0-1

Terribly disappointing to lose this one - we needed to get the season motoring.  TVS was giving nothing away from the mound, but their new boy was on top also, and it wasn't until the fourth that the first hit of the game was recorded - Cesar, a single.  We witnessed a super play in this innings, Ollie made a spectacular diving save at shortstop, who gave it to Manny  who completed the double play to Alfredo at first.  So good!  They managed a single run in the fifth, and we did our darndest to equal with Cesar and Alfredo on base, but got out at home plate after a passed ball.  Hits  :  Cesar Perez, Jose Pimentel 1.

Game Two v Nth Districts     WON 16-1

Still seething from the early defeat, we began in earnest with Jose Castellano launching one over off the second pitch of the innings, and our intent was clear highlighted by a great catch and throw out by Harry Kiss at rightfield, then Ollie doubled and got home on Ryan's hit, Manny and JC scored a couple more.  Then we exploded for eight runs in the next, with another Ollie double, Ryan and Harry singles, a JC double and a second Ollie double and Ryan single at the end of the dig.  This led to defensive changes and the bench all got a gurnsey and played cameo roles, with Jose P not giving up his spot on the mound, pitching six and then topping it off with a home run of his own.  Ollie closed and the game was done.  Hits  :  Jose Castellano (HR), Oliver Hayes 4, Ryan Stradling 3, Jose Pimentel (HR) 2, Jose Cedano, Cesar Perez, Harrison Kiss, Armando Ramirez, Declan Quinn, Louis Verastegui 1.

DIVISION TWO away v Nth Districts Sat 24.10.26     WON 11-5

Luke showed our intent from the getgo by reaching first on a hit, stealing second, then third and getting home on a passed ball, but our errors gifted them two, and we had to fight back.  We did by adding six in the next after Luke (again), Goldy and Benji's double all scored valuable runs, and then the rain came.  We had played enough time to meet the requirements, so a win it was.  Hits  :  Luke Taylor 3, Steven Goldspink, Benji Hayes 2, Will Stock, Jaxon Fridd 1.

DIVISION THREE     -  BYE  -

DIVISION FIVE Did not play - rain.

DIVISION SIX Lost to Sth Districts 5-12

WOMAN'S LEAGUE

DIVISION ONE Away v Glenelg Sun 25.10.26     WON 12-4

Peyton was in form from the middle, really giving them zero in quick time. Amara had a nice two RBI hit in the first as we went to a three nil lead and Peyton knocked in a couple in the second to go to a five zip lead. Seven runs in the fourth thanks to Peyton and Hannah's doubles and fine contributions from all the girls.  A blip in the next innings when we let in three runs off the back of three untimely errors.  Indy closed and the hits were  :  Sarah McMahon, Peyton Daniels, Amara Quinn, Dakota Ding 2, Indie O'Hazy-Zschorn, Alice Brown, Hannah Mercer, Beth Lee 1.

DIVISION TWO At Don Klaebe Field Fri 23.10.26 v WTorrens     WON 11-0

Off to a good start when Alyssa got home from Darna's hit, then Hannah and Beth added to the score.  A feature was the sides ability to get out of trouble on several occasions with terrific double plays and fine catching.  The hitting was exceptional, as was Ella's pitching performance, letting Alyssa close.  Hits  :  Beth Lee, Kylah Ding, Kaia Weeks 2, Alyssa Lasscock, Darna Boers-Veen, Hanna Mercer, Di Barry 1.

DIVISION THREE Away v Port Fri 23.10.26     Lost 8-11

Terrific game and a really solid improvement. A win is just around the corner.  Hits  :  Jenne Tran, Bridget O, Meara 2, Jasmine Fawcett, Kerryn Fry, Carol Ryan, Megan Brownbill 1.

JUNIORS

The only junior game that we participated in was the Under 14's which was played at Gawler.  Different weather up there apparently.  They unfortunately went down 6-13 and all other junior games were cancelled due to the rain.

GODANATS!!

DIVISION ONE Away v Sturt Sat 17.10.26     Lost 1-6

After TVS left the mound after two, the returning Jose Pimentel took over and was looking the goods until he unfortunately injured his hand and had to retire.  Reshuffling was required and we had to use five pitchers in all to complete the game.  The Sturt big hitters rarely get on top at any stage, and scored their runs in dribs and drabs, and it was only our lack of hitting that let us down.  Hits  :  One each to Jose Cedeno, Alfredo Rodriguez and Harrison Kiss.

DIVISION TWO Away v Sturt Sat 17.10.26     Lost 0-8

As in the previously mentioned game, their hitters didn't seem to dominate but scored runs at a regular pace, whereas our boys were getting on base and looking dangerous but not converting.  Declan and Louis V were stoic on the mound, and the hits were  :  Will Stock 2, Dale Laslett, Declan Quinn, Kosuke Ikeda 1.

DIVISION THREE Away v Sturt Sat 17.10.26     WON 10-4

Alice started and threw five great innings, and Amara was left to clean up the tail.  Two walks and a Louis Zahr double got us our first, and his second double got two more followed by Amara knocking in a further two, and Alice got into the act with a two RBI hit.  All looking good.  Hits  :  Louis Zhar 2, Amara Quinn, Matty Nanasi, Deagan Gray 1.

DIVISION FIVE At Don Klaebe Field Sat 17.10.26     Lost 2-6

DIVISION SIX At Don Klaebe Field Sat 17.10.26     Lost 0-18

Talk about the walking wounded.  Our guys were dropping like flies and didn't raise a gallop.  One hit for the day - Jay Whitely.

WOMAN'S LEAGUE

DIVISION ONE At Don Klaebe Field Sun 18.10.26 v Sth Dist     WON 14-3

The girls came to play, and after a confused first inning where the Hawk's girls were found to bat out of order, they got their heads down and put on a fine performance. Four hits and a walk in the first and we were motoring with three on the board, followed by two more in the next and three in the third after Amara, Dakota and Hannah kept it going.  All this while Dakota was having a good day from the middle, and Indie closed.  RBI's abounded in the last, with Kaia one, Beth two and Alice three.  Hits  :  Alice Brown, Beth Lee 3, Amara Quinn, Dakota Ding 2, Indie O'HazyZschorn, Hannah Mercer 1.

DIVISION TWO Away V Glenelg Fri 16.10.26     WON 10-3

With Kylah Ding slaughtering them from the mound, the girls put up a great first-up performance in their initial Div 2 game.  Hits  :  Alyssa Lasscock, Darna BoersVeen, Molly Brown 2, Jenne Tran, Hannah Mercer, Kylah Ding 1.

DIVISION THREE At Don Klaebe Field Fri 16.10.26 v H & G     Lost 5-18

A good first effort from these girls, many of whom have not played a lot of baseball, but are super keen to improve.  Hits  :  Jasmine Fawcett 2, Lauren Garcia, Rachel Page, Bridget O'Mara, Lindsey Fawcett, Erin Demant 1.

JUNIORS

U16 At Don Klaebe Field Sun 18.10.26 v ETorrens     WON 7-6

Good game - good finish off the back of  Luke Fawcett's efforts from the hill, backed up by first time pitchers Jacob and Peter.  Hits  :  Riley Sinclair, Kaia Weeks, Kylah Ding, Luke Fawcett, Jacob Atkinson, Aldeyna McCormack, Peter Vu 1.

U14     -BYE-

U12   Very good win over Henley & Grange 10-5 at Don Klaebe Field

U10 (1) At Don Klaebe Field Sun 18.10.26 v GGCD     Lost 3-6

Really huge effort losing narrowly.  Great pitching Harry W, Riley D and Zac H pitching to  Harry E.  Two doubles were a highlight - to Kennedy G and Jett D, and the defence was outstanding.

U10 (2)   Away and went down 0-9

GODANATS !!
