DIVISION ONE Double-header v Sth District Game One away Sat Feb 21 2026  Lost 3-4

This was an extra crucial finals- position deciding series against the Hawks.  Sitting sixth, we needed to at least split this series to keep the wolves at bay.  We thought we were on track after leading 3-0 at the end of our fifth innings.  Earlier, a Wade walk, a Jose P single and an Ollie sac bunt followed by a passed ball gave us our first and Alfredo's single gave us another, then Cesar put one over the right-field fence in the fourth for that lead.  Comes the fifth and Hayden took a snappy catch at shortstop and completed the double play at third to end their innings, and we trotted off.  Side away, but we were called back when it was decided that the out at third had not been made.  Wouldn't you know, the next two pitches gave them three runs to equal, and they got one in the last for the win.  Our plans were thwarted in the

fourth when AJ had to retire with a side muscle problem, and Jose P had to step in.  Good effort from him.  Hits  :  Jose Pimentel 3, Hayden Carroll, Cesar Perez (HR), Alfredo Rodriguez 1.

DIVISION ONE Double-header v Sth District Game Two away Sat Feb 21 2026     Lost 0-7

Jose Pimentel had to start in this game, following on from his outstanding efforts in the first game.  It was planned for AJ to go the distance in the first game and Jose to come in for the second.  He got the stitch in the fourth and Troy and then Cezar had to cover, and the big hitters from the South came into their own, and whilst we never at any stage gave an inch, it was hard going.  Two hits from our batters tell a story - Hayden Carroll and Alfredo Rodriguez were the only ones.  Must win in the last game next week and hope for favourable results in other games.

DIVISION TWO away v Sth District Sat Feb 21 2026     Lost 2-19

We were never in the hunt, and after a reasonable start just found ourselves in all sorts of trouble in the third when they put on plenty.  The only runs we scored were on account of the opposition's errors.  Hits  :  Harrison Kiss, Rhys Owen, Armando Ramirez 1.

DIVISION THREE away v Sth District Sat Feb 21 2026     Lost 0-19

This seems to be the result of guys finding time to travel at this stage of the season with no finals involvement in the picture, and injuries after a long and arduous campaign.  Coach had pressing family committments and left the reigns in the capable hands of Josh, but the highlight of the game was in the first when our sprightly second baseman, Doggy, pulled off a fantastic play to retire a batter whilst lying on his back.  No hits !!

DIVISION FIVE Lost 18-2

DIVISION SIX Played at home against the unbeaten top team and aquitted themselves admirably, going down 4-12.  Assured of finals participation, they can look forward to this with confidence.  Hits  :  Soung Kim 3, Nick McCormack, Brad Atkinson, Steve Couzner, David Ding 1.

MASTERS away at West Beach won 4-2 v Souths

Hits Shane Brown 2, Kosi, Flash, Behr, Nate 1 each both Doggy & Behr pitched well and a nice way to end the season.

WOMAN'S LEAGUE

DIVISION ONE Away v Adelaide Sun Feb 22 2026     WON 16-1

We only had a five innings game, and just kept getting better as we went - nil in the first !, two in the second, three in the next, then four,

and seven in the last, with Alice giving them nothing from the mound, and Beth taking two pop-up catches behind the plate.  We let some of the bench players on late in the game, and Ella belted two from two and Alyssa hit into an error and got on base.  But really, the hitting, the running and the defence was superb.  Finals await.  Hits  :  Carly Moore, Indie O'HazySchorn 3, Sarah McMahon, Dakota Ding, Amara Quinn, Beth Lee, Ella Forrester 2, Alice Brown, Jem Dadd 1.

DIVISION TWO Away v H & G  Last game of the season for these girls, and the improvement has been marked.  Ended with a win against a more fancied side and had fun doing it.

WOODVILLE BASEBALL results w/e 15 Feb 2026

DIVISION ONE At Don Klaebe Field Sat 14 Feb 2026 v Port Adelaide     WON 3-2

Highly entertaining game that started as a tight pitchers' game with our guy, AJ, and their guy both giving nothing away until we were able to break the seal in the fifth with a run after Alfredo singled, Jose C walked and Wade's double scored, then they deliberately walked Cesar and Jose P's shot got another.  The Maggies clawed one back in the next, and equalled the game at two all in the eighth.  We were hitting the ball at this stage, but let ourselves down with suicidal base running, which all worked out ok in the end, but it took until the last - in a nerve racking inning - to get that elusive winning run.  Jose C worked a walk, Wade moved him around, Cesar walked and Jose C came rattling home on Jose P's ground ball which was errored.  Relief all round.  AJ's contribution was ten strikeouts in six, and Jose P pitched three for three strikeouts.  The hits were - not too many as it was that kind of game -  :  Jose Pimentel 3, Wade Moore 2, Alfredo Rodriguez 1.

DIVISION TWO At Don Klaebe Field Sat 14 Feb 2026 v Port Adelaide     Lost 4-17

The Coach, Nathan has had a hell of a season to this point, and the muscles are shrieking at him.  Their batters took advantage of this and came out firing and put on plenty.  Declan took over after coming back from knee surgery, and then the catcher, Will, went down and young Benji had to step into the breech - in fine fashion.   We couldn't catch them and went down.  Hits  :  Luke Taylor, Nat Nicholson, Declan Quinn, Matthew Nanasi 1.  Both Luke and Matthew took some fine catches in the outfield.

DIVISION THREE At Don Klaebe Field Sat 14th Feb 2026 v Port Adelaide     Draw 5-5

Amara was on the mound, relieved by Josh after three, and the runs were being shared by both sides.  We left a few on base at crucial times, but good base running kept us in the game.  Amara was looking for that elusive tenth pickoff, but will now have to wait - still a couple of games to go.  A draw was probably the right result in this one.  Hits  :  Kosuke Ikeda 3, Josh Boden 2, James Chu 1.

DIVISION FIVE Away v H & G     WON 10-8

Real good result for the boys that have been battling away manfully all season.  Just what they deserved, and a feather in their caps.  Hits  :  Jake 3, Kai 2,Chace, Luke, Sam, Owen 1.  Kai went the distance from the middle.

DIVISION SIX Away v Goodwood     WON 10-7

Top win which keeps them well and truly in the finals - so anything can happen from here.  Dave Ding pitched the game and the hits were  :  Soung Kim, Nick McCormack, Noel Watson 2, Derek Milne, Aaron Petros, Brad Atkinson, Steve Couzner, David Ding, Mike Chemny 1.

MASTERS - BYE

WOMAN'S LEAGUE

DIVISION ONE At Don Klaebe Field Sun Feb 15 2026 v Glenelg     WON 17-5

Four in the first set the tone, as Smack walked, then hits to Jemma, Alice, Peyton, Dakota and a treble by Amara scored after we had finished off the Bay's first dig with a double play.  No runs in the second (what?), but another four courtesy of Peyton HPB, Indie single, Dakota RBI, Beth single and Alyssa getting two home.  Alice sat down with a dizzy spell and Peyton took over seamlessly and we put seven on the board in the next with two more added in the last.  Hits  :  Dakota Ding 2, Jemila Dadd, Alice Brown, Peyton Daniels, Indie O'Hazy-Schorn, Amara Quinn, Alyssa Lasscock.

DIVISION TWO Away v West Torrens Fri Feb 13 2026     Lost 3-4

Fantastic effort this against one of this grade's leading teams.  Nearly knocked them off.  Alyssa and Dakota shared the pitching duties and both had five strikeouts, but we had only two hitters with one each to Kylah Ding and Bridget O'Meara.

**Big week in Baseball**

DIVISION ONE at Don Klaebe Field Tue Twilight 3 Feb 2026  v Kensington     WON 6-0

Jammo gave nothing away in his six digs and really looked the goods.  We got cracking in the first when Jose C trebled and Wade's RBI put us on the board, but three in the next courtesy of a Papps walk, a Manny single and a Ryan sac fly, followed by a Jose C two run homer really set us up for the win.  The runs still came, in singles, but it was quite enough to finish in style with a fantastic double play at the end to snuff them out.  Hits  :  Jose Castellano (HR),  Wade Moore 2, Cesar Perez, Jose Pimentel, Callum Park, Joe Papps, Armando Ramirez, Ryan Straddling 1.

DIVISION ONE at Don Klaebe Field Sat 7 Feb 2026 v Adelaide  Game One     WON 9-6

Game was tight as early, but the Angels broke through in the third with four runs, and AJ was having none of that, and tightened up to go on to record a meritorious win, throwing six innings with Jammo helping out in the last.  Game was on a tightrope until we busted out with Cesar, Wade and Hayden all getting on base and allowing Jose C to double and bring in two.  We repeated the dose in the sixth with Jose P and Ollie on base and Jose C's (again)  triple scoring two and Troy having a RBI of his own.  Very good win, and a tribute to our batters as well as the pitching staff.  Defensively, we were on song.  Hits :  Jose Castellano 4, Hayden Carroll, Wade Moore, Cesar Perez, Troy Nicholson 2, Jose Pimentel, Oliver Hayes 1

DIVISION ONE at Don Klaebe Field Sat 7 Feb 2026 v Adelaide Game Two     Lost 0-3

This snuffed out our five game winning streak, but was a fine contest, with both pitchers on top all game.  We had two scored against us in the first which proved to be crutial, and they got another in the last to make it look a bit better from their point of view.  From our perspective, Jose Pimentel lost no admirers and pitched a terrific seven innings.  In a tight game, we had our share of great moments with Ryan from leftfield chucking a guy out at second, and a double play towards the end to close their innings.  Hits  :  Jose Castellano 2, Wade Moore, Cesar Perez, Oliver Hayes 1.  Good to get the split, but two wins was the prefered option.

DIVISION TWO at Don Klaebe Field Sat Feb 7 2026 v Adelaide     Lost 5-15

We lost it at the top of the contest, allowing too many runs in, but the silver lining was the fact that for the rest of the outing we held our own, and in typical fashion of late there was no thought of capitulation.  Hits  :  Kosuke Ikeda 2, Armando Ramirez, Steve Goldspink 1

DIVISION THREE at Don Klaebe Field Sat Feb 7 2026 v Adelaide     Lost 1-9

A couple of debutants to senior baseball were unveiled today, namely Chase Wallis and Luke Fawcett, and both performed admirably,  looking forward to bright futures.  We looked as if we were going to score on numerous occasions, but just left far too many stranded on base.  Hits  :  One each to Ken Inoue, Chase Wallis, Todd Dunstall and David Lodge.

DIV FIVE away v Glenelg     Lost 8-9

Wow, what a near thing.  Congratulations to the team for their fighting spirit - nearly pulling off a great win.

DIV SIX away v Angels     Lost 9-10

Led all day, and went down at the death.  Not to worry, finals seem a certaity.  Hits  :  Derek Milne, Craig Mortimore 2, Nick McCormack, Brad Atkinson, David Ding, Shane Lodge 1.

MASTERS home V Gawler Won 7-0

WOMAN'S LEAGUE

DIVISION ONE away v Kensington Twilight Wed Feb 4 2026     WON 11-3

Not too much can be said about this one, except to congratulate the girls on their performances to date. They are definitely not getting ahead of themselves, because that is certainly not how they roll.  Peyton took to the mound, and the hitters were  :  Indie O'HazySchorn, Dakota Ding 2, Sarah McMahon, Amara Quinn, Peyton Daniels, Jemm Dadd, Beth Lee, Ella Forrester 1

DIVISION ONE away v Sth District Sun Feb 8 2026     WON 16-2

Ditto above, and this time the hitters were  :  Alice Brown, Jemm Dadd 3, Sarah McMahon, Carly Moore, Peyton Daniels, Indie O'HazySchorn 2, Beth Lee 1

DIVISION TWO at Don Klaebe Field Fri Feb 6 2026     WON 6-5

One hundred gamer, Alyssa Lasscock, certainly played the game of her short career by coming on as relief pitcher for Kaylah (one strike out) and striking out six, to go along with her several RBI's and her final act of knocking in the winning run in the last.  Well done.  Hits  :  Alyssa Lasscock 4, Ashlee Stradling, Kylah Ding, Jasmine Fawcett 1

JUNIORS

U18 Lost to Goodwood Red 1-9 in a scoreline that flatters the opposition, as it was neck and neck all day with us going off the boil towards the end.  A thoroughly entertaining game.

U14 Lost to GGCD 2-3 in a nail biter.  This was also a game that was a delight to watch, as both teams were highly skilled, and our boys and girls showed a huge amount of improvement.

U12 Lost to Adelaide 3-10 but the good news is --

U10 Won against East Torren 4-0

U8 as usual had a ball.
