DIVISION ONE away v H & G Sat 8.11.25 - Game one of double header - WON 3-0
Cold and windy conditions, but the boys were looking good in the first with the lead off batters all being caught on the home run fence off one of our old pitchers. No score until the third however when Ted got on base and Cesar scored him with a long two bagger, but we had to wait until the third for another score after the scene repeated itself, with Ted again on base and then Cesar with another RBI. Next dig, and we got another after a terrific at bat from Ted (again), scoring young Ryan, and that was the medlies - no more scoring. The opposition was at a loss to counter the outstanding pitching performance of AJ, and I was told after the game by one of their biggest players that he was too good for them on the day. The defence was terrific all game, with a couple of spectacular double plays being the highlights. Lovely to take a game off the Rams. Hits : Cesar Perez 2, Ryan Stradling, Brendan Taheny 1.
Game Two of double header away v H & G Sat 8.11.25 - Lost 0-3
The game was lost in the first, when we gifted them three unearned runs with uncharacteristic errors. No more scoring from either side as the pitchers were right on top in a couple of fine displays - Jose Pimentel on our behalf, and another ex Senator on their side. Not much more to say, as it was a tight contest after our bad start, and Jose Castellano got us on our feet in one play when he threw the guy out at home plate from deep in centre field. Sammy Garcia finished from the mound after Jose came off, and did himself proud. Hits : just the two, Hayden Carroll and Oliver Hayes.
One game apiece from the double-header, whilst not what we wanted in terms of results, it was pleasing knowing the strength of the opposing team. Hits were at a premium in both contests, due solely to great pitching.
DIVISION TWO away v H & G Sat 8.11.25 Lost1-12
We did not record a single hit for the game, and, combined with some errors letting the opposition in, we had a disappointing loss.
DIVISION THREE away v H & G 8.11.25 Lost 4-9
Not a real bad showing, although still a loss. Some redeeming features however in the game and Toddy Dunstall's home run with two runners on was an absolute highlight, as was Amara's two pick-offs - firstly at first base followed by one at second. Bragging rights. Hits : Josh Boden 2, Todd Dunstall (HR) 1.
DIVISION FIVE at Don Klaebe Field Sat 8.11.25 WON 12-6 v Sturt
Very good win this, with all playing well. Jayden Oakley, Sam Kuhne and Josh Mignone each had two hits with Jayden hitting a homer, and Jake Wilson, Darryl Soar, Nate Oliver and Owen Williams all had one hit. Owen Williams pitched well with five strikeouts and then Luke Fawcett finished off with three.
DIVISION SIX at Don Klaebe Field Sat 8.11.25 WON 15-3 v Sturt
Great, all round performance with seventeen hits for the day. As usual, Dave Ding did the bulk of the work from the hill, and came off only to be relieved by the most secret of secret weapons - Steve Couzner - who bamboozled them with his speed and guile. Hits : Derek Milne, Soung Kim, Aaron Petros, Brad Atkinson, Nick McCormack, Shane Lodge, Mike Chemny 2, David Ding, Steve Couzner, Craig Mortimer 1.
MASTERS 1ST game for the season at home against Adelaide, great game we won 13-0. Hits: Shane Brown 2, Nick McCormack 1HR, Jimmy Chu 1, Alfredo Rodriguez 1, Tim Fawcett 1, Noel Watson 1, Aaron Petros 1, Craig Mortimore 1, Gustavo Gonzalez 1, Shane Brown pitched 3 superb innings
WOMEN'S LEAGUE
DIVISION ONE away v Kensington Sun 9.11.25 WON 11-1
A really comprehensive win in a game that we dominated from the first pitch. All our girls were on fire and were never in any danger, and the wins keep coming - hopefully it continues. Alice was the starting pitcher and Peyton came in to close, and together they form a considerable force. Smack is continuing on her winning way with the bat, and she has lots of mates chipping in. Hits : Sarah McMahon 3, Alice Brown, Peyton Daniels, Carly Moore, Amber McMahon, Jemila Dadd 2, Dakota Ding 1.
DIVISION TWO AWAY V Goodwood Fri 7.11.25 Lost 7-10
Ashlee and Kylah both had safe hits and we managed to get bat on ball on a number of occasions, but ground outs and flyouts were unfortunately the outcome. Kylah and Di each managed to strikeout one each.
