DIVISION ONE

Away v ETorrens 21.11.21

Lost 3-4

Another one that really got away. Three all after nine after we kept them scoreless for the last five innings of normal time, and then we put in a poor one to let them walk it off. We certainly had our moments, with highlights coming from homers off the bats of Troy and Joel, and Todd's ground ball scoring Ethan. Joel threw five, Cesar a couple and Troy finished. What about that sneaky Troy Nicholson - not a word to anyone that he was playing his five hundredth game for the Senators. A win would have been a fitting result for his fine service. So we are looking forward to playing Port next week, and should have quite a powerful team to put it to them. Hits: Troy Nicholson (HR), Cesar Perez 2, Wade Moore, Joel Chapman (HR), Daniel Chapman, Todd Dunstall, Tom Dineen 1. DIVISION TWO

Away v ETorrens 21.11.21

Lost 3-7 We let them get away to a huge start - seven runs after two digs - then Finners came to the rescue and pitched the rest for no runs. We left the best to the last, with Josh showing his hitting prowess by bruising the top paling on the fence to allow Rhys to score, and Petty scoring Muggsy. Not too sure which way the wind was blowing, but it was a beauty. Hits: Kieran Pett, Josh Tols 2, Mitch Fienemann, Richard Olson, Rhys Owen 1.

DIVISION THREE

Away v ETorrens 21.11.21

Lost 2-5 We started brilliantly with two runs and Kieran hurling them down in fine fashion, but he got the stitch and gave way for Doggie in the fourth. Plenty of chances in the last, where we loaded the bases to have a real crack, but popped up for the last out. Defense was solid after the average start, and the hits were: David Lodge 2, Kieran Pett, Jarrod Marsland, Josh Mignone 1.

DIVISION SIX and DIVISION SEVEN both played ETorrens at Don Klaebe Field and the sixers went down 3-14 with Casey Moore getting three hits, and a whole host of single hitters, namely Aldo McCormack, Owen Williams, Harmer, Eime, Berh, Leigh Pedder, Nick McCormack and young Morty. We left heaps of runs out there.

The Sevens fared a lot better and recorded o 15-5 win with Nick McCormack pitching a good game and collecting three hits, ably backed up by Behr, Flash and Sully with one each.

DIVISION EIGHT

After a freezing and wet start at nine in the morning, our guys were slow out of the blocks in an uncharacteristic performance in which we got the early outs but let them off the hook on a few occasions and lost 5-15. This side is a lot better than this result, and as a top team must, will improve as the season goes on. Hits: Shane Nicholson, Laurie Sinclair, Lisa Hage 2, Aaron Petros, Derek Milne, Brad Atkinson, Greg Oxenham, Shane Lodge 1. WOMEN'S LEAGUE

Away v Sth Districts

Lost 7-20 With so many injuries and absences, the girls went south with a fantastic attitude and gave it their best shot in a game that was played in a great atmosphere by both teams. No quarter was given by the opposition, and they really made the most of their opportunities, as we lacked the girl power to get into the game. Alyssa did her darndest on the mound, but by the time Kenzie took over the game was done and dusted, and she just had a good time, and so did the rest of us. Gee Carly, this coaching caper is not all it is cracked up to be is it. Hits: Leah Turner, Lisa Hage 1.

JUNIORS

A bit tardy getting the results through today, and as I am experiencing internet problems, I will have to leave it there. Sorry.

DIVISION ONE

v Glenelg at Don Klaebe Field 13.11.21

WON 7-5

Ah, the Bays. Nearly always hard to beat at the best of times, and when they get their noses in front, even harder. That is what makes this win sweeter, because we let them get in front, then caught them up, then fell behind again, and finished up with a top victory. After two it was a couple each and after four we were down 2-4, with Joel's two run homer being our saviour. Joel did five, relieved by Troy, and we scored through Troy, Cezar and Rackers with Joel chipping in with a RBI, then the seventh gave us the advantage after Abbey, Callum and Troy combined for two, and we thought we were almost home after Rackers put one over for two more. He turned his home run into just an RBI because he apparently failed to touch first base on his way on his victory lap. Still, no great damage, as Troy shut them out for the final few innings. Hits : Troy Nicholson, Cezar Perez 2, Callum Park, Luke Rackebrandt, Daniel Chapman, Joel Chapman (HR), Nathan Nicholson, Craig Abbott 1.

DIVISION TWO

v Glenelg at Don Klaebe Field 13.11.21

Lost 2-5

New Daddy Tyson pitched 4.1 fine innings and left the game at 2-3, our two runs being the result of a nice triple by Ethan. Unfortunately that was all we scored, and the Bays got a couple in their last which we failed to match. Hits: Breandan Taheny, Mitch Fienemann, Chris Sims, Craig Abbott, Brayden Marchioro, Ethan Marchioro 1.

DIVISION THREE -

v Glenelg at Don Klaebe Field 13.11.21

WON 8-4

Pretty comprehensive win this one, with us getting eight on the board after three before letting them score a few late. Joe was in command on the mound, and we kicked off a five run second inning with Harry belting a double, and scoring on a Doggy hit, then a few more runs came home compliments of a couple of wayward pitches. Joe did 4.2, and Doggy mopped up the rest. Hits: Kosuke Ikeda, Jimmy Chu, Shane Brown, Josh Mignone, Harrison Kiss 1.

DIVISION SIX

Didn't have their finest day losing to Glenelg 4-17 at the Bay with Aldo McCormack 1, Casey Moore 1, and Messrs Pedder 1 and Wallace 2 being the hitters.

DIVISION SEVEN

Were a bit stiff and lost narrowly 8-9, also to Glenelg. Plenty of hits recorded, Cam got three, as did Nick McCormack, and Sully, Flash, Behr and Tyson Jarvis each got two.

DIVISION EIGHT

WON 13-4

Looked to be drinking their own bathwater at the start in a very lackluster display giving up three easy runs, before clicking into gear and running away with the game in emphatic fashion. Brad was zinging them down, before he gave way for Azza, and Chem was proving to be a brick wall behind the plate. Looking good boys! Hits : Derek Milne, Laurie Sinclair, Greg Oxenham 2, Aaron Petros, Brad Atkinson, Justin Randall (nice double), Shane Lodge 1.

WOMAN'S LEAGUE

Played the previously winless East Torrens at home in unfortunate circumstances, due to the fact that Darna, Meggsie and Carly were all unavailable - Darna and Meggsie because of their nuptials, and Carly due to a bad injury. So, pitching, backup and hitting power were all missing, and the girls thrown into the fray at the deep end did their darndest and it is a credit to them that we got within three runs in the finish. Fantastic effort girls, and don't forget it's a long season, and we sure as hell will be there at the sharp end. Thanks to Lisa and Kerryn for pitching in. Result 9-12 down. Hits: Leah Turner, Sarah McMahon, Alyssa Lasscock, Sammy Berry and Lisa Hage 1. Alyssa carried the pitching load most of the day, and Kensi's thunderbolts finished it off.

JUNIORS

We had a lean day with all but one of our junior teams losing. The winning team was the under 11's, who traveled to the Southern Hawks' ground and came home 5-3 winners, but that was all the good news, with the U15's losing heavily, and both Little League (U13) teams on the losing end. The amazing Peewees had fun.

DIVISION ONE

Away v H & G 6.11.21

Lost 6-8

Really took it up to the highly fancied Rams, and importantly quietened some of their more raucous fans in the fourth when Troy put over a bomb followed by a Pup hit, a Rackers double and RBI and a DChap double to tie it up at 3-3. We then hit the front with a Pup homer in the sixth, and some of his critics in the mob had to eat a little humble pie. One of our ex pitchers pitched a perfect game against us last season, so it was pleasing when Nathan got an early hit off him to set the tone for the rest of the game, and he had to sit down after the Pup fence clearer. Joel had contained them admirably, but got into pitch-count difficulties and we let a few runs in towards the latter part of the game, then we were chasing four in the last and only managed two, with Rackers and AChap contributing. Hits: Cesar Perez (HR), Luke Rackebrandt 2, Callum Park, Troy Nicholson (HR), Daniel Chapman, Andrew Chapman, Nathan Nicholson, Todd Dunstan 1. A huge improvement over the previous weeks, so we have to keep it going from here. DIVISION TWO

Away v H & G 6.11.21

Lost 2-13 The game was a bit of a stalemate in the early stages with both pitchers having control and Tyson looking good, but we allowed them four in the third and really spat the dummy in the next, giving them eight. Hard to come back from there, and unfortunately catcher Carly had to call it a day with a buggered thumb/wrist, which forced the Skipper to come into the game who looked good taking the fast pitching of Finners. Hits: Ryan Muggleton 2, Rhys Owen, Josh Tols, Richard Olson 1.

DIVISION THREE

Away v H & G 6.11.21

Lost 6-8 Joe was busting his backside on the mound, and after us getting three runs in the first and holding the ascendancy for most of the game, they clawed their way back and got in front of us after four. The weather really threatened, and we managed two runs only in the last before the game was called just in the nick of time as the heavens opened so that the next games were slightly delayed. Hits: David Lodge, Jarrod Marsland, Harrison Kiss, Josh Boden, Shane Brown 1.

DIVISION SIX

Played at home against the Rams and lost 3-15 with Aldo and Flash getting two hits each, and young Morty, Nick and Lee Pedder one each.

DIVISION SEVEN

Also played home and went down 3-8 to the same outfit. The King went down with a popped knee, and Rev and Flash hit twice, and Behr, Sully and Nick each recorded a hit. DIVISION EIGHT

At last a bit of sunshine on the Saturday gloom. A win 10-8 also against H & G. This team just keeps on giving and are looking the goods with everyone getting into the act and new recruit Lisa joining in nicely. The maximum seven runs in the second said it all with a two RBI double off Greg's bat being the standout, and Brad's and Aaron's pitching to Derek was terrific. Shane at first base deserves a mention - dunno what, but a mention. Hits: Aaron Petros, Brad Atkinson 2, Derek Milne , Laurie Sinclair, Greg Oxenham, David Ding, Shane Lodge 1. WOMAN'S LEAGUE

v Glenelg 7.11.21

Lost 1-8 Real pity about the scoreline, when with one inning to go it was 1-3 with Dana hitting the pitch count limit and because of the aforementioned hand injury to Carly, we were lacking backup. No worries - we'll get em next time. This was a high class game, and it is now one each this season between the two teams. Watching Kensi reach second after a big hit was a highlight, as was the catching of Sarah and Meggsies' outfielding. Good work girls Hits: Sarah McMahon, Leah Turner, Darna Veen, Kensi StGeorge 1.

JUNIOR LEAGUE (U15)

Played a highly entertaining game at the Bay and went down fighting 8-12 with Toby, Remy, Indy and others having good days. Wish I had got hold of a team sheet to name some others.

LITTLE LEAGUE (1) (U13) Had a bye

LITTLE LEAGUE (2)

Had a draw 10-10 against East Torrens with Alice hitting an in the park home run. Coach Tim kept urging her on - easy for him.

MINOR LEAGUE (U11) Lost to the Angels at home 8-10.
