 DIVISION ONE

Away v Gawler Sat 25.11.23

WON 10-1

First look at the newly refurbished Gawler complex, and what a treat it will be in future years.  But we had a game to win, and win we did in fine fashion with Drew holding them to just the one run in five innings, and the ultra mean AJ snuffing them out in his four.  First dig set the pattern when Troy belted one to the rightfield corner and scored Cezar from first, and we followed in the next with Joel, Manny and Greg combining for one, and Drew's RBI put us three up. More to come, and Drew doubled and scored the speedy Greg, and Cesar got Drew home, but wait, there's more, as the fifth was particularly fruitful for us as we filled the bases and a Cezar double got three over the plate. Five in this dig, and the way we ran the bases was a particular highlight.  Everyone was chipping in at important phases of the game, and fifteen hits tells the story that it was a case of "all played well".  Hits  :  Drew Janssen 3, Cesar Perez, Mitch Fienemann, Armando Ramirez 2, Troy Nicholson, Wade Moore, Joel Chapman, Nathan Nicholson, Greg Bravo, Adenson Verastegui 1.

DIIVISION TWO

Away v Gawler Sat 25.11.23

WON 15-5

Kicked off with a fine first.  Kuhna singled and in a Freddy confusion play we got one home and Pappsy hit a double to put two more on the board.  The second was good also with three more, and then our defence came to the fore in the following two digs, and with a couple of fine double plays, denied the opposition.  Declan was in fine form and left the mound after four at 6-2.  We had a brief slight scare as they crept to a one run defecit, before we powered away with contributors aplenty.  Joel just shut their batters up. Hits  : Victor Liu, Nick Kuhn, Joe Papps, Breandan Taheney 2, Fred Aguilar, Diesel Fallon 1.

DIVISION THREE

Away v Gawler Sat 25.11.23

WON 8-3

Main feature of this game was the outstanding performance of Ray Wei, our starting pitcher who threw five innings for twelve strikeouts, no hits and no walks.  The batters were no slouches either with ten hits for the game.  Aldo, Luke and Jimmy got the ball rolling putting on three in the first, Diesel got Jimmy home in the third, and in the fourth we notched up a further four with another Diesel hit and a few walks.  Aldo and Diesel knocked them over at the death, and in all, a comprehensive victory.  Hits  :  Elvin Avila, Diesel Fallon, Ray Wei 2, Aldo McCormack, Luke Taylor, Jimmy Chu, David Lodge 1.

DIVISION SIX had a bye.

DIVISION SEVEN - Blue

Couldn't take the field at Flinders due to the poor state of the ground.

DIVISION SEVEN - Red

Played at home against Sth Districts and went down swinging (as they always do) 7-13 in an entertaining game.  Hits  :  Derek Milne, Justin Randall 2, Aaron Petros, Shane Nicholson, Kim Soung, Greg Oxenham, Tony Tuttle, Andy Vuong, David Ding.

WOMEN'S LEAGUE

DIVISION ONE

Didn't have the best of days at Sturt and lost 1-16.  This is in no way a reflection on their ability, as this team has become the hunted this year after their Premiership win last season.  They will no doubt smart from this defeat and get back onto the horse and be the champs once again.

DIVISION TWO

At Don Klaebe Field Fri 24.11.23

Draw 14-14

Really entertaining game, in which we fell behind, got level, got behind again, and fought like hell to draw the game unluckily at the finish. Unlucky because we needed the maximum five to draw, and we did that with only one out - well, who knows?  Di, Indie and Alice were great from the mound, and the hits were :  Di 2, Jemila, Alice 1.

JUNIORS

U17 Away v GGCD

Confidence boosting win 18-5 with Diesel, Hayesy and Lachlan sharing the pitching duties, and the hitters  :   Ryan, Hayesy 3, Ollie Van Dommele, Tommy Jovanovic, Lachlan Stock, Seb Bravo 1.

U15  Home v Glenelg/WTorrens

WON 8-0

Really looked spot-on with Alice tearing them apart with a 1-2-3 start, and our bats really looking ominous with a max seven runs in the third dig, after Seb crunched a two bagger, and then a triple in the next.  The defence was electric in this game with all contributing.  Hits:  Chace Wallis 1, Seb Bravo 2.

U14  Home v GGCD

Lost 17-2.

Some good, gutsy performances shown in the face of adversity.

U13 Home v GGCD

WON 16-3

Close one early with us being one up after two, then we hit our straps and the runs flowed.  Four hits in the third including a triple to Michael Sennis to go with another single, and the other contributors were  ;  Felix Oliver (double), Bodhi Ansell, Isaac Dorian, Riley Sinclair (x2), Myles Braithwaite, Kylah Ding (who also pitched well), Aiden Hussey.

U11

Didn't have their best day and went down 10-0.

Pee Wee

As usual the little guys had a fun morning.

DIVISION ONE

At Don Klaebe Field v Glenelg 18.11.23

Lost 7-8

Started well but gave up the game in the second when the Bays took advantage of a loose inning and piled the runs on.  A fightback was looming and we looked like getting back into it, but it was a bridge too far.  Sorry about the lame report, but I was swanning around in the Southern Ocean at the time looking for sharks.  Hits  :  Troy Nicholson, Joel Chapman (HR) 3, Drew Janssen 2, Wade Moore, Mitch Fienemann, Ryan Muggleton, Greg Bravo 1.

DIVISION TWO

At Don Klaebe Field v Glenelg 18.11 23

WON 7-4

Fine win this, with Victor Liu claiming two hits and Daniel Chapman, Freddy Aguilar , Ryan Muggleton and Nathan Nicholson  one each.  Declan Quinn pitched us to the win.

DIVISION THREE

At Don Klaebe field v Glenelg 18.11.23

WON 7-6

Two hits each to Harrison Kiss, Elvin Avila and Kosuke Ikeda, and Jimmy Chu chimed in with one.  Ray Wei was the starting pitcher.

DIVISION SIX

Went down 5-12 to Adelaide.  Hits  : Zschorn 2, Eime, Braithwaite (his initial homer - congrats) Taylor 1.

DIVISION SEVEN - Red

Lost to West Torrens 2-11

DIVISION SEVEN - Blue

Knocked off Adelaide 10-9 in a nail biter.  Try going into the last with a seven run lead and scraping home by one. Casey had had a good day, but after being relieved, had to come back in the last to save the game. Loaded bases with two out, and he struck out the batter.  Errors contributed again.  Hits  :  Cuz, Nicho 2, King, Behr,Cam Casey 1.

WOMEN'S LEAGUE

DIVISION ONE

At Don Klaebe Field v Adelaide 19.11.23

WON 8-5

Excellent standard game, with us getting off to a beaut start with four, but the oppo just kept chipping away and made a game of it, but then two runs at a crucial stage on the back of a Darna double put paid to their chances.  Amara knocked 'em dead, and Darna cleaned them up.  Hits  :  Darna BoersVeen 2, Amara Quinn, Louise Pelle, Ella Forrester, Catie Berry 1,

DIVISION TWO

Away v  East Torrens

Draw 14-14

Trailed for the whole evening and momentum swung our way when Alice came into pitch the last two innings and got 5 strikeouts. Great hitting throughout the night - hard fought draw - a very credible result. Molly Brown 3, Catie Berry 2, Dakota Ding 2, Jemilla Dadd 2 and Christie Ikeda 1

JUNIORS

U17

Terrific win with Diesel doing his stuff from the mound, ably backed up at the death by Ollie Van Dommele.  Never in doubt with a 13-2 result. Hits  :  Oliver Hayes, Diesel Fallon 3, Oliver Van Dommele, Matthew Nanasi 2, Tommy Jovanovic, Lachlan Stock, Ryan Evans (Welcome from Mildura), Indie O'Hazy Zschorn 1.

U15

8-0 over Port with Alice Brown pitching the lights out, and Benji, Sebastian, Alice and Hugo getting hits. Overall, a fantastic TEAM performance at Port Adelaide.

U14

Lost to Adelaide 21-0 playing against an experienced team - we are still trying to find the right combinations for this team. Myles did a great job catching for his first time, Felix was solid on the mound once he found and Myles found the right vibe and Mochi took a great catch at 2nd.

U13

Another meritorious win 13-2 over GGCD. The whole team contributed, with the hitters being Ely Plaves 3, Michael Sennis, Archie Wallis, Kylah Ding, Riley Sinclair, Francis Calo 2, Mochi Vuong 1.

> U11 travelled to Goodwood but lost 13-8. Credit to some team performers James, Cooper and Chris who pitched and Hugo, Kasper, Nori and new player Oliver who always do as they are asked by the coaches.

> U9   all played well - look for these little superstars in the years to come.

> GODANATS!!!

DIVISION ONE

Away v GGCD Sat 11.11.23 WON 6-5 Give us a break guys - after four weeks of agonisingly close games with most of them going into extra innings, we deserved a quietish one - but no such luck, as the game up at Surrey Downs went right down to the wire, and once again we had to delve deep into our fighting spirit to come away with a hard fought win. We got under way with a run in the first when Callum and Cesar combined for one but we left loaded bases out there - a lost opportunity. AJ came on to pitch against his former club with a little bit of noise but such is the man and his teammates, we all got through the initial innings unscathed. We managed to silence the noise on their bench when Joel popped one over in the fourth after Drew, Cesar and Finners had all hit doubles - 5-0. They kept chipping away with a run here and a run there and got close to our score with two in the eighth, after AJ had sat down with twelve strikeouts to his name. Troy Nick at this stage had pitched three quality innings and gave way to Drew, who just had to put them away in the last for a one run victory - and would you know it - he did just that. Hits : and a brief explanation - Callum Park 2 - just so reliable, Drew Janssen 2 - when you need him, Cesar Perez 2 - always dangerous, Mitch Fienemann 2 - ticking all boxes, Troy Nicholson 1 - got this one , watch out, Wade Moore 1 - always in there, Joel Chapman (HR) - did it, Daniel Chapman 1 - Wise head. Definately on the rise from hereon in, with a lot of tough games behind us, and whilst it is not all plain sailing ahead, we approach the upcoming games with confidence. DIVISION TWO

Away v GGCD Sat 11.11.23

WON 6-2 Declan gave up two in the first and we put that down to nerves, but after that it was a complete closing down of their battrers. Great effort. Our offence was a bit sleepy also and it took us till the fourth to put one on the board when a Muggs flyer advanced Vic to third and Pappsy got him home with a ground ball. A further three runs in the final two digs saw us home after Finners and Joel cleaned them up. Hits : Victor Liu, Daniel Chapman, Joe Papps, Jose Ramirez 2, Armando Ramirez, Ryan Muggleton 1. Muggsy and Pappsy were significent with RBI's at crutial moments and Oliver Hayes put on a clinic at second baseg DIVISION THREE

Away v GGCD Sat 11.11.23

WON 12-3 Jimmy Chu set the standard with a two RBI double in the first, and then sat back to watch Jalon knock'em dead with his speed in the next two. While Coach Dave was having a breather, he was happy with the third when Jimmy hit again (that's two broken bats), Diesel had a two run RBI, Aldo knocked in another and Kosi doubled - six runs. Ray came on and was equally impressive with his speed and control, and also managed a triple with the bat. Hits : Aldo McCormack, Kosuke Ikeda, James Chu 2, Jalon Zhao, Diesel Fallon, Ray Wei 1. DIVISION SIX

Home v Sturt Navy Sat 11.11. 23

WON 6-1 I reckon that's a couple in a row for the sixers, a meritorious effort, with Doggy sitting down nine of their batters with k's. Hits : Andrew Eime,' Braithwaite, Zschorn 2, Brown, Wallis, Wilson 1. The boys are feeling a lot better, it's marvellous what winning does for morale. DIVISION SEVEN (Red)

Away at Gawler Sat 11.11.3

WON 14-7 Gawler's first ever game on their spanking new diamond, and we spoiled the party from the very first pitch of the game when Hooney belted one over the centrefielder's head and found home plate, before going on to win the inaugural game. Terrific game all round, with Dinger knocking them dead from the hill, and the hitters who got into the act were : Hooney (both triples), Derek Milne 2, Kim , Shane Lodge, Steve Saunders, Greg Oxenham 1. DIVISION SEVEN (Blue)

Home v GGCD 11.11.23

Lost 10-16 Disappointing loss, chasing runs all game. Slipped to five down early, rallied and tied it up at ten all before giving up six in the last. Pitchers were left lamenting, as the defensive efforts were not up to scratch. Hits : King 3, Cuz, Nicko 2, Behr, Fitzy, Morty 1. WOMEN' LEAGUE DIVISION ONE

Away v Sth Districts Sun 12.11.23 Golden Grove one day - Southern Districts the next. Hope petrol prices go down soon. The girls went south and couldn't bring home the win, gowing down 3-6. No great cause for alarm, as they may be having a slight premiership hangover, and they are perfectly good enough to bounce back in no mean fashion. Look out for next week. Hits : Darna BoersVeen, Louise Pelle 2, Alyssa Lasscock, Ella Forrester, Charlotte Paech, Leah Turner, Sarah McMahon 1.

DIVISION TWO

Away v GGCD Fri 10.11.23

Lost 6-9 Played in quite extreme heat, and not without a bit of controversity. Under the circumstances, a creditable performance. Hits : Alice 2, Molly, Jemila 1. JUNIORS U17

Had a bye U15

Played at home against Sth Districts and finished with a win 5-4. Alice was on fire and bowled them over in the first with a 1-2-3 twelve pitch inning, followed by a three run triple in her first at bat. So we got four and the Hawks replied with three and it stayed that way for a while untill both sides scored a run apiece late. Hits : Alice 2, Sebastian, Benji, Dakota and Anton 1. U14

Went to the Port and unfortunately lost 2-11.

U13

Played at home against West Torrens and really got hold of them to the tune of a 15-0 win. Scored the maximum five in three of our innings with Archie Wallis hittin a home run (in the park), a double and a single, Felix Oliver two triples and a single, Francis Calo two singles, and Bodhi Ansell and Ely Plares both chiming in with singles. Great effort. U11

Lost to Kensington 0-10 U9

Had a good time and are improving at a rapid rate of knots.. No scoring. GODANATS !!!
