DIVISION ONE vs Glenelg at Don Klaebe Field 1/12/19
WIN 4-3
A terrific last ditch win in a game that was hard fought and close all day. We gifted them a run in the first with a muffed play at first, but equaled in the third after Gary showed his pace. We had our chances in the fifth and sixth when we loaded the bases with only one out but failed to put runs on the board. Rhett, who had a great day on the mound, came off after six but stayed on the field and made a nuisance of himself in the batting box long enough to enable us to score and tie the game going into the bottom of the ninth. So we again loaded the bases, but this time Ethan put the ball into play and Jimmy Chu bolted home for the win. Gary did a fine job of closing, and all the boys can hold their heads high after this one. Goodwood and Glenelg in successive weeks - well done boys. DIVISION TWO vs Glenelg at Don Klaebe Field 1/12/19

In a very ordinary game, we held the Bays after a poor start for a few innings, but they ran away with it in the end. We had some great highlights, namely a fine outfield catch by Jimmy Chu and some terrific work at shortstop by Troy Nicholson, but overall the standard was not really up to scratch. Hits : Troy Nicholson 2, Jimmy Chu, Jackson Sowton, Harrison Kiss 1.
DIVISION FOUR played the powerful Henley and Grange team and went down 4-17, in what was an improvement all round.
DIVISION SIX had a masterful win over Norths 15-8 in a game that had all players contributing. They are really finding their feet in this competition - up a grade from their premiership last year. Now it remains to keep it going. Hits : Cam Britcher, Scott Geyer, Tim Fawcett 2 (Tim hit his maiden triple), Cuz, Behr, Sully, Marso, Dornie, Knuckles 1.
DIVISION SEVEN also played the Reds but with a different result, losing 7-12, playing catch-up baseball all day. They started OK, with Casey playing his part on the mound, and Nicko gave them a boost with his in the park home run, but Dornie didn't cross the plate as often as he did last week, but generally the bats were all right, a little tightening up in the field wouldn't hurt. WOMAN'S LEAGUE
The girls had the unenviable task of going deep south in a gloomy evening, but came home with the points, defeating Southern Districts 8-2. The standout, apart from the usual stalwarts of Carly and Darna, was Alyssa Lasscock with three hits. She is a prodigious talent for a youngster, and one to watch. Louise Bartle also got a hit. Looking good girls.
UNDER 17
Two games for these kids this week, the first being a win on Tuesday evening against Kensington 10-1, a side that we drew with earlier in the season. Johnny Von Senden was dynamic on the mound and gave them nothing, whilst the hitting was good, with Blake O'Brien cracking two doubles, and Bailey Gibbs having two hits, Owen Williams one and Johnny Von Senden one.
The second game for the week was against top of the table H & G, and after a neck and neck opening, the Ram's boys pulled away when Johnny started to tire. He was replaced by Harrison Kiss who did his darndest, and we came home like a steam train, only to get knocked off 7-10. A couple of errors in the field didn't help. UNDER 13 Lost to GGCD 9-15
UNDER 11's went down to Norths 2-12 and they were not happy. Expect a solid game next week. Matthew, Archie and Chase had six strikeouts between them, and Lincoln, along with a great catch, got a hit, along with Chase and Dakota had a RBI.

A cold start to the day, but all stayed positive and played some top baseball in a high scoring contest. The training is coming through in some real baseball plays. Nice Coaching.
