ROUND TEN

DIVISION ONE

Twilight 6.01.21 away v Kensington

Lost 2-5

This encounter was closer than the scores indicate, with the game all tied up at two all in the fifth, when an outfield error let them in to score a couple. Earlier, Abby double scored us a run, and a Cesar bleeder and a Muggsie sac bunt put another on the board. A mention here about Joel's effort on the mound, going the distance and only giving up one earned run - terrific work. Cesar joined in with two from four, getting himself caught on the fence twice. Hits: Cesar Perez, Daniel Chapman, Craig Abbott 2.

DIVISION ONE

Away v Sturt 10.01.21

Lost 1-11 Will was the lucky man on the mound pitted against probably the strongest batting line-up in the League, a line-up of ABL heavy weights and long time big hitters. He got through the first two digs unscathed, going one, two, three but sheer weight of numbers proved against us and they powered away. A curious thing was that there was not a home run hit all day, but we contributed to our own demise with a very sloppy performance defensively. Hits: One each to Wade Moore, Daniel Chapman and Ethan Marchioro.

DIVISION TWO

Away v Sturt 10.10.21

Lost 1-6 Not enough oomph with the bats, with only Jimmy Chu and Harrison Kiss hitting once each and Todd Dunstall twice. Tyson didn't have such a good day pitching - remember he had been in good form before the Christmas break - so it was left to Rhys to take over and strut his stuff. Two pickoffs saw him going for man of the match status, but the damage had been done, and we limped to a defeat in the heat.

DIV FIVE

Almost got their elusive first win for the season, going down in unlucky fashion 5-9 to Henley & Grange. A home run at the death put paid to their aspirations.

DIV SIX

Defeated North 20-4 in a game that once again proved that you can't keep a man down forever. After copping a blast for his performance previously, the interstate recruit put in a scintillating display with three hits and a fine catch (I'm told). Anyway, enough about him. The hero of the day goes to Behr, who did the job all day on the hill, and also to the rest of his team mates, who all contributed to the win. Hits: Tyson Jarvis 4 (welcome back), Terry Fitzgerald 3, Tim Fawcett, Grant Behrendt, Cam Britcher, Nick McCormack, James Straddling 2, Steve Couzner, Craig Mortimore, Craig Reval 1.

DIV SEVEN

It seemed the Christmas/New Year hangover was still present, as we couldn't get going at all and gave up the maximum in the first, which proved to be the difference in the end result of 7-15. The boys picked up their game, but it was "too late she cried". Hits: Aaron Petros, Lawrie Sinclair, Casey Moore 2, Derek Milne, Shane Lodge, Craig Mortimore 1.
